When choosing a car wash – experience matters
Wash Pointe car wash is the world’s only fourth generation family run car wash business. Started in 1958 by Marvin Gunn Sr. in Warren. He partnered with his son Marv Jr. in the 1960’s and established a car wash in Fraser.
Marvin Jr. and his son Robert opened a car wash in Eastpointe (which is still in the family today) in the 1970’s and multiple coin operated car washes in Fraser and Roseville.
The current Owner, Steven Gunn, joined his father after graduating from Western Michigan University. Steven, the great grandson of the founder is a hands-on operator with knowledge of all aspects of automatic car washing. He has over 25 years of personal experience and has overseen the growth of Wash Pointe to five locations today – with more planned in the near future.
Charities We Love
Steve created the Power Penny Program in 2013. This program allows customers to donate an extra penny with each purchase, and Wash Pointe Car Wash matches each donation.
Merit is another program that Wash Pointe Car Wash is heavily involved in. This program helps Detroit youth graduate and receive college scholarships and provides academic enrichment, social and cultural awareness, career development, and student mentorship through the Fate program.
Steve co-founded Entrepreneurs For Kids, a business community created to inspire local youth and give them opportunities to grow into entrepreneurship. E4K also partners with the Fate program through Merit to help provide resources for children.
